学院概况
Since its establishment，the Animation School has long been valued by the officials from the Central and local governments who have given instructions to speed up the development of animation program，thus pointing out the direction of and injecting momentum into its growth. Following the instruction that"measures should be taken to give strong support for the development of original products in Chinese animation and game industries，improve the cultivation of talents for production of animations and games，and speed up the growth of Chinese animation industry and game industry"， the Animation School of BFA works enthusiastically in the spirit of the Central Government and takes the advantages of BFA in talent cultivation，to give impetus to and expedite the talent cultivation in the whole animation industry and game industry，in an effort to build the Animation Scgool of BFA into a talencultivation base por China's original animations and games.
动画学院成立以来受到中央和地方领导人的高度重视，先后做出指示要大力发展动画专业，为动画专业的发展指明了方向和注入了动力。2000年，时任中共中央政治局常委、国务院副总理李岚清同志到电影学院视察工作。2004年，北京市委副书记龙新民到电影学院进行调研和视察工作。2005年，北京市市长刘淇同志视察北京电影学院，指示要建立一流的动画创作、教学、理论研究人才培养基地，要创作出中国自己的动画形象，要为中国的文化事业和电影文化产业做出应有的贡献。
北京电影学院动画学院根据“一定要大力扶持我国动漫游戏民族原创产品的发展，扩大对动漫游戏方面人才的培养，并要尽力加快中国动漫产业及游戏产业的发展”的重要指示，积极落实中央加快动画实业发展的指示精神，率先切实的持续发挥学院在培养人才等各方面领先优势，以带动并加快整个动漫及游戏产业的人才培养，力图将我国动画专业创作人才的培养规模和质量提高到新的水平、使人才培养更趋于专业化，将北京电影学院动画学院建设成为国家原创动漫游戏的人才培养基地。
