Xian da College of Economics an d Humanities, Shanghai International Studies University, was co-founded in 2004 by Shanghai International Studies University an d Shanghai Xian da Investment Co., Ltd., an d was one of the first full-time independent institutions of higher education in Shanghai approved by the Ministry of Education. In 2021, the college won the approval of the Degree Office of Shanghai Municipality fo r starting the MA program inculbation project. The college now possesses two campuses: Hongkou an d Chongming. Hongkou Campus is located in the heart of no rtheast downtown in Shanghai, adjacent to Shanghai International Studies University, whereas Chongming Campus is situated in Chenjia Town, Chongming District, featuring a combination of a beautiful neoclassical Tuscan style architecture an d unique ecological environment.

Benefiting from the suppo rt of the excellent teaching faculty an d expertise in fo reign language teaching an d research of Shanghai International Studies University, Xian da lays a strong emphasis on language learning, business subjects an d coo rdinated development of other disciplines, including art, law, an d education. Currently, it offers 23 undergraduate programs in six main fields, with approximately 9000 full-time undergraduate students.

Xian da has been encouraging educational an d teaching refo rm. In 2018, Xian da launched an innovative Talent Training Program. A team of top-level professo rs is fo rmed to assess an d guide the selection process of the talent program. This new scheme is the latest initiative in the college's mission to develop its own talent pool among undergraduates. What's mo re, since 2020, Xian da has set up a student management an d service center, consisting of student development department an d student affairs department an d adhering to the concept of holistic education, to promote all-round development of students' mo ral, intellectual, physical, aesthetic an d labour education.
