服装学院是一所以服装设计与工程为特色学科，管理、艺术设计等多学科互相渗透、协调发展的学院。学院下属四个系、一个服装中心实验室和一个研究中心，教职工80余人。学院下设服装设计与工程、艺术设计（服装与服饰）、纺织工程、市场营销（服装营销）、服装设计与工程（服装CAD/CAM）、艺术设计（时装表演与策划）六个本科专业和一个一级学科硕士研究生点，在院学生一千二百多人。

　　学院拥有设备先进、功能齐全的服装CAD教学基地、三维人体检测基地；服装快速加工系统和时装表演大厅，以及珠宝首饰加工室、服装裁剪室、专用机房，扎蜡染室、喷绘室、化妆室、织物风格测试室、面料性能测试室、针织和机织等数十个功能各异的实验室。

　　经过三十年的发展，学院形成了一整套科学而成熟的教学模式，具有合理的教学管理体系和教学质量保证体系；形成了注重培养学生基本素质、实际动手能力、艺术与科学紧密结合的办学特色。先后为上海市和周边地区输送了5000余名毕业生，受到社会的广泛好评。

　　近年来，学院积极参与社会上各类大型的时尚展示、表演与创作活动，承办多项国内设计大赛、模特大赛，学生在国内外时装设计和时装表演大奖赛屡获各类大奖；与上海和周边地区的多家集团、公司和产业集群地建立了牢固的校企战略联盟；教学与科研成果累累，在为上海及长三角地区经济服务方面成绩显著。

　　目前，服装学院正努力构建“服装面料设计-创意设计-生产制造-时尚展示”完整的学科链，打造培养优秀纺织服装工程师、设计师和管理营销师的摇篮。

　　

　　College of Fashion Technology （CFT） has been one school where the characteristic is fashion design and engineering and many other disciplines including management and art design develops collectively and complementarily.

　　With a body of more than 1，000 students， the college consists of four departments？： Fashion Design， Artistic Design， Textile Engineering and Apparel Technology， and a lab center as well. Courses are offered in the majors of fashion design and apparel technology， art design （costume and accessories）， textile engineering， marketing in clothing， CAD/CAM in fashion design， stage performing and merchandising.

　　Also the college has a large-scale and advanced centre for teaching in CAD-aided apparel technology， a body scanner made in Germany， a modern multifunctional fashion performance hall， a well-equipped apparel sewing lab， four computer rooms， a handicraft dying room， a photographing studio， am image design shop， a fabric texture room， a fabric performance testing lab， and knitting and weaving labs.

　　After three decades of growth， the college has its well-established style in teaching and administration， together with a teaching quality control system. This style， based on its previous accumulated experience， is characterized by an emphasis on quality education， practical professional skill development and co-operative education linked with job markets. Over these years， the college has produced more than 6，000 graduates who earn great reputation.

　　Recently， the college actively participates in many large exhibitions， performances and creative activities， and has hosted several national competitions in fashion design and models. Our students have won numerous prizes in the competitions in fashion design and models both at home and abroad. Company-corporation relation has been firmly established between our college and some famous corporations in Shanghai and neighbor areas. College witnesses a large number of research and education results and plays an important role in serving the economy of the Yangtze River Delta.

　　College of Fashion Technology in SUES will make every effort to stage performance and marketing in textile and apparel. The goal is to become the birthplace of excellent designers， managers as well as the professionals needed in the textile and clothing industries.
