1982年湖北民族学院医学院临床医疗专业本科毕业。1987年晋升主治医师、讲师；1994年破格晋升副主任医师、副教授；1999年晋升主任医师， 2000年晋升教授。曾任附属医院风湿科主任（1994.9-2001.5），医疗系副主任（1996.7-2001.5），附属医院副院长（1998-2001.5）。2001年5月至2006年8月在日本圣玛丽安娜医科大学风湿病研究中心留学，2006年6月全优通过博士论文答辩，获医学博士学位（PhD）。2006年11月返回湖北民院工作，任湖北民族学院医学院党委委员、副院长，附属医院党委委员、副院长，附属医院风湿免疫科主任。

已在国际、国内各级专业杂志上发表论文20余篇。发现骨关节炎相关自身抗原磷酸丙糖异构酶（TPI）和微纤维球蛋白-4。率先证实微纤维球蛋白家族及蛋白酶活化受体-2在关节软骨细胞的表达。所进行的研究课题多次参加国际国内风湿病学术会议交流，包括美国风湿病学年会（2003，2004，2005）、欧洲风湿病学年会（2003，2005）、亚太地区风湿病学术会议（2000，2004，2006）、日本风湿病年会（2002-2006）、日本免疫学会（2003，2006）、日本人类蛋白组学组织（JHUPO 2005，2006）和历届全国风湿病学术会议。
